Taryn joined AECC in early 2016. Taryn is a veterinary technician here and is responsible for triaging patients, performing diagnostic testing, administering in-hospital treatments, and taking radiographs.
She holds an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Conservation and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology. In addition to her formal education, she also participated in an internship at Clearwater Marine Aquarium for Sea Turtle Rehabilitation and Fish Husbandry. After her internship at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Taryn fell in love with the rehabilitation and care aspect of caring for turtles. She knew that the she wanted to work in veterinary medicine and animal care.
Outside of her work here at our hospital, Taryn volunteers with Brevard Zoo turtle hospital and The Sea Turtle Preservation Society. She is a proud pet parent to a beagle, Lily, a dachshund named Henry and a Domestic Shorthaired Cat named Chloe.
