Florida’s warm and high allergen climate lends to an extensive amount of skin irritations and skin allergy issues for our pets. So to help better serve Brevard County’s pet parent community, Animal Emergency and Critical Care Center of Brevard (AECC) has added a new specialty service, DERMATOLOGY!
We are pleased to welcome Michael Canfield, DVM, DACVD, and his experienced team, to our facility located in Melbourne on the southwest corner of Eau Gallie Boulevard and Croton Road. If your pet is showing signs of a problem skin condition, like itchiness, hair loss, red skin, small bumps in the skin, pimple-like lesions, and scaling your pet may have an allergy, irritant reaction, bacterial infection, yeast infection, one of many different types of external parasites, an autoimmune reaction or even possibly some types of cancer could have developed. If you are seeing any of these signs or have concerns regarding your pet’s skin condition, we recommend you schedule an appointment with Dr. Canfield for a pet dermatology treatment. Beginning August 2013, appointments are available with Dr. Canfield on the first Friday of each month.
Dr. Canfield enjoys practicing dermatology, with special interest in the treatment of allergic skin diseases, ear diseases, and endocrinopathies (hormone-related diseases). Additionally, Dr. Canfield performs traditional surgery, cryosurgery, laser surgery, and internal medicine treatments. To schedule a consultation with Dr. Canfield, please call 727-807-3240.
